Happiness is...

For Aidan, there is no greater joy than digging in the dirt. It ranks right up there with trains (toy or real), construction equipment, and playing with cars. When Jordan's parents were here in October, Jordan's dad built Aidan a "dirt box" in the backyard. Recently the dirt box has become a lot more fun because of all the rain!

As fun as this is, I am ready for our backyard to dry out...





We were trying to get a shot of the big splash these rocks made when he dropped them, but my timing was off...

Aidan had a blast until he found out that he was going to have to be cleaned up in the yard with the garden hose! There was much weeping and gnashing of teeth under all that cold water, but I wasn't about the let him cross the carpet with all that mud. Not to mention the mess it would make in the tub!

The ground here it totally saturated, so the water made an instant lake in the yard. While I was turning off the hose, Aidan got back in the mud, so we had to turn it back on and have another wash.

I think that tomorrow we'll play trains.
